NASA Astronauts Prepare for 1st Launch on Boeing's Starliner

After years of anticipation and setbacks, Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is finally poised to take flight. Liftoff is scheduled for May 19th, 2022, from Cape Canaveral, Florida. This historic mission marks the first time NASA astronauts will launch aboard a Boeing spacecraft.

A Decade in Development

The Starliner project has been under development for over a decade, with the aim of creating a reliable and reusable spacecraft for crew transportation to and from the International Space Station. Several delays have pushed back the launch date, but the team is now confident that the spacecraft is ready for flight.

Mission Details

Two NASA astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, will be aboard the Starliner for a week-long mission. The spacecraft will dock with the International Space Station, where the astronauts will conduct experiments and perform maintenance tasks.
