Boston Celtics Fall in NBA Finals to Golden State Warriors
Warriors Capture Fourth Title in Eight Years with 103-90 Game 6 Victory
Stephen Curry, Al Horford Lead Respective Teams in Scoring
In a thrilling conclusion to the 2022 NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics' hopes of claiming their 18th franchise championship were dashed as they fell to the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 by a score of 103-90. The Warriors' victory marks their fourth NBA title in the past eight years, solidifying their status as one of the most dominant teams in league history.
Despite a valiant effort from the Celtics, who trailed by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter, the Warriors' superior depth and experience proved too much to overcome. Golden State's Stephen Curry led all scorers with 34 points, while Boston's Al Horford contributed a team-high 26 points. Jayson Tatum, the Celtics' leading scorer throughout the playoffs, was held to just 13 points on 6-of-18 shooting.
The Warriors were dominant on the boards, outrebounding the Celtics 54-39, and their bench outscored Boston's 32-12. Draymond Green, who was named Defensive Player of the Year earlier this season, was a force on both ends of the court, finishing with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists.
